(In)Visibly Hidden
“A large part of seeing depends upon habit and convention.” — Berger
Nowadays, we are living in the world where most of our focuses appear in a little square frame made of glass, aluminium and some other minerals. A small object that fits perfectly in our hands but seems to have everything we need to know or want to know. Sometimes, it seems that since it has everything in it, our focus or what is visible is only what we hold in our hands. This is of course done with the help of technology and internet that gather and transfer information or whatever we need to the screen. However, because we are used to seeing things in our hands that only contains what is visible to our eyes thus on the other hand, there are things that may be ‘invisible’ to our eyes as well.

“Things are getting so invisible, and so hidden, that you start to think that you can do only what is on the surface, what is visible.” — Lialiana.
It can imply that there is no such a thing that is invisible, we just simply cannot see through the surface to what is hidden behind. In my opinion, something invisible means something that we do not see but that does not mean that it cannot be seen or does not exist. This is because we have become very used to seeing things just from the surface or looking at only the same directions, just like what Ingrid said.
“The two things you don’t really do as a pedestrian is to look up or look down!”.
I personally think the reason that we do not normally look in different ways is because in this world, everything seems to be given and fed to our own eyes directly that we do not need to look other ways to find it.

Similar to the internet, we think it is invisible because we cannot see it but the truth is it is visible. There are tubes, wires, irons and other infrastructures that help run the internet. The internet can surely be seen with some observations and effort, you can probably see it too.
As I am writing to this point, it makes me think that everything seems to deliberately force us to only see the surface and thus persuade us to never try to find what is hidden. However, when I put on the hat of a producer and not a consumer, I admittedly think that sometimes, there are certain things or sides of myself that get locked away as well and I am fairly certain that I am not the only one who has things to hide. I think there are times that each individual tries to hide some sides of them so that others cannot see and with the help of internet and technology that is widely available in the world today, hiding can easily be done. For example, in social medias, everyone knows that there are obviously many sides to the story but we just put one side to the show and hide the other sides that cannot be shown or do not want to be seen.

“When you do look up, what you see can be astonishing.” — Bridle
Everything in life is either purposely hidden or we cannot see it through the surface but when you do see it, it can surprise you in both good and bad ways. In whichever ways it may be, it will certainly help you see and understand the surface better which could possibly be completely opposite to what you have seen before.
